Woman In Dompu Married To Her Lover's Body

MATARAM - A woman in Marada Village, Hu'u District, Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, went viral on social media because she married her lover's body.

Head of the Public Relations Section of the Dompu Police, Iptu Zuharis, confirmed the marriage and also carried out monitoring.

"That's right, I got the information. Later we will explore it more deeply," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 10.

From the information gathered, the woman underwent a wedding because previously there were plans to hold a reception.

The male mink is known to have died in a single accident while driving a two-wheeled vehicle on Sunday (8/6).

Before the body was buried, the family agreed to marry the bride and groom as a form of accountability, seeing the condition of the bride and groom who was pregnant.

The reason the family married the two of them was so that the child born would have a population status.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Religious Section of the Ministry of Religion, Dompu Mohammad Alimudin, considered the marriage invalid, both religiously and legally.

According to him, marriage can only take place on the wishes of the bride and groom, marriage requirements such as dowry, witnesses, and guardians.

"And of course both are still alive," he said.

Alimudin also regretted the marriage. He said his party was paying serious attention to this issue so that it would not happen again.

"From the information we received, it turns out that a marriage like this has happened twice in Dompu," he said.

According to him, marriage like this occurs due to a lack of understanding of religious knowledge in society. Because in Islam marriage to corpses cannot be justified for any reason.

"This is what we need to straighten out, don't misinterpret it. What is clear is that it is forbidden to marry a corpse," he said.
