OpenAI Successfully Reaches Annual Revenue Of IDR 163.7 Trillion

JAKARTA OpenAI announced its latest revenue figures. On Monday, June 9, 2024, the ChatGPT developer said that they managed to achieve an annual revenue that was bigger than last year.

OpenAI's spokesperson told CNBC that their recurring annual revenue reached 10 billion US dollars or around Rp163.7 trillion at the current exchange rate. This achievement shows that OpenAI's revenue rose 5.5 billion US dollars (Rp89.5 trillion).

This figure includes revenue from various consumer products owned by OpenAI, business products on ChatGPT, to the API. This amount of revenue is also not surprising because OpenAI now has 3 million paid business customers and 500 million weekly active users.

This achievement is in line with the company's mission, namely to collect revenues of 125 billion US dollars (Rp2,034 quadrillion) in 2029. To achieve this target, OpenAI continues to seek various ways.

One of the efforts that can be seen is to hire well-known people to participate in building his Artificial Intelligence (AI) products. To recruit these talented people, OpenAI has spent billions of dollars annually.

The company also spends money developing AI products. Not only that, OpenAI also spends a lot of money to build and maintain its infrastructure in order to train and run the AI system optimally.

Even though their annual income has been disclosed, OpenAI does not disclose the operational costs they spend. That way, it is not yet known whether the company made a bigger profit than the previous year.
