Honda HR-V RS E: HEV Is Built Locally, Only The Battery Is Still Imported
JAKARTA - PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has officially launched HR-V RS e: HEV as well as solidified the company's steps in electrification in Indonesia.
Not only presenting it to the Indonesian market, the manufacturer ensures that the SUV is assembled locally at a factory owned by HPM in Karawang, West Java.
"We are proud to start production of our hybrid cars in Indonesia. This is our long-term commitment in smoothing out future steps for electrification in Indonesia," said PT HPM President Director Shugo Watanabe in his explanation to the media in Jakarta, Tuesday, June 10.
Meanwhile, Sales & Marketing and Aftersales of PT HPM, Yusak Billy said HR-V RS e: HEV was the first Honda hybrid car to be localized with Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of up to 50 percent.
"Local content is confirmed to be above 50 percent and has included incentives so that it can reduce prices in Indonesia," added Billy.

Billy also explained that the price of the HR-V RS e: HEV has been included in the hybrid car incentives and is in accordance with what was set by the Indonesian government.
"This improves quality and efficiency until it gets prices that suit consumer wishes," Billy explained.
However, he explained that there are a number of components that are not assembled locally, one of which is batteries as a hybrid driver.
"If it's a hybrid, the battery itself is still assembled in Japan and we're bringing it and rafting it to the factory in Karawang," explained Billy.
PT HPM inaugurated the sale of HR-V RS e: HEV at a price of Rp488 million, then type e: HEV worth Rp449 million, and pure gasoline costs Rp399 million. All prices include On The Road Jakarta.
