Not Goyah With Big Japanese Name, The Indonesian National Team Is Enthusiastic Against The Best Asian Team

JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Team (Timnas) will face Japan in the last match of Group C of the Third Round of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualification at Suita Stadium, Osaka, Tuesday, June 10, 2025, afternoon WIB.

The duel is no longer decisive for both teams in the standings. Japan has confirmed it will qualify for the 2026 World Cup finals since March 20, 2025.

Samurai Blue now packs 20 points from nine matches, whose position as the leader of Group C is irreversible.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team has secured tickets to the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification with 12 points from the same number of matches.

Although the meeting of the two teams will not affect the ticket to qualify for different routes, the match will still be interesting.

One of Garuda's squad players, Joey Pelupessy, is looking forward to a duel against Japan. He and his teammates have made good preparations for the match.

"I'm looking forward to this match, against the top team in Asia, group leaders of course. Japan has always been a big team, especially in Asia."

"So, for us it is also a big challenge and a fun match. If I can talk about the whole team, we are all really looking forward to this match."

"They have already passed, we are also going to the next round. So, this will be an interesting match," said Joey Pelupessy.

Japan's match against Indonesia will kick off at 17.35 WIB. Indonesia will wear a white jersey and blue Japanese.
