The Number Of Investors Continues To Increase, Reku Is Optimistic That Indonesia Is The Center For Asian Crypto

JAKARTA - Recently, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) announced that the number of crypto investors in Indonesia until April 2025 had reached 14.16 million people, or an increase of 3.28% from the previous month of 13.71 million investors.

Responding to the good news, Robby as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of Reku and General Chair of ASPAKRINDO-ABI said this increase was a positive signal for Indonesia to become the center of Asian crypto.

However, Robby emphasized that Indonesia still needs to increase innovation in the blockchain and Web3 industries, especially since blockchain technology that underlies crypto assets also has enormous potential in various sectors, ranging from finance to education.

"Blockchain has the potential to become a revolutionary technology that needs to be improved through study and education. So that in the future, the benefits of this technology can be felt by a wider layer of society," Robby said in a statement.

For this reason, Robby added, the role of crypto business actors, associations, universities, and communities in supporting the use of blockchain technology is very, very important.

Moreover, the role of regulators who have an important role in facilitating the growth of the crypto industry, including in supervising, managing licensing, protecting consumers, and developing regulations.

"Through the Financial Services Authority (OJK) regulation of sandbox, business actors also propose the latest studies in the crypto and blockchain industry outside of buying and selling activities," continued Robby.

In the future, Reku together with associations and various stakeholders are committed to continuing to support the development of innovation in the crypto and blockchain industry through educational activities and discussions with regulators.

"Classically, crypto assets are already on par with other financial assets. So it is hoped that the innovations in crypto assets can be further developed both in terms of services and various investment products," he concluded.
