Vice President Gibran Checks The Condition Of Fire Victims In Kapuk Muara
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Gibran Rakabuming Raka checked the condition of fire victims in Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Jakarta. The vice president asked the ranks of the central government and local governments to ensure that evacuation tents were livable.
At the location of the fire, the Vice President walked through areas that were still filled with debris, then came to the evacuation tents and spoke with fire victims who had been living there for a while.
The Vice President conveyed to the citizens that they continue to strive to meet all their basic needs, which currently live in refugee tents, including nutritious food and health services.
The Vice President also emphasized that the feasibility of refugee camps must be a major concern, especially regarding the ease of access to clean water, toilets, and a coordinated and clean food logistics system, "said the official broadcast of the Vice Presidential Secretariat as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 9.
During his visit, the Vice President handed over assistance in the form of food packages, and various other needs such as blankets and pampers.
Gibran instructed the ranks of local governments and related institutions to ensure that the handling of the impact of the fire runs optimally, including a comprehensive mapping of areas affected by the fire so that aid can be distributed evenly and on target.
The Vice President emphasized that the fire accident that occurred in densely populated residential areas such as in Kapuk Muara must be prevented in the future.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening the fire fighting system in densely populated areas, adding public hydrants (red fire extinguishers.), and standby posts at the RT/RW level, as well as reorganizing fire-prone areas.

Meanwhile, Head of RW 04 Kapuk Muara Sudiono Village assessed that assistance coming from various parties including the government came quickly and was distributed in an integrated manner. Several emergency facilities such as MCK, clean water and food are available in refugee tents.
"Alhamdulillah, there is no shortage," said Sudiono.
He thanked the Vice President for his attention. "I thank you Mr (the Vice President) for taking the time to visit or see firsthand the conditions of the evacuation of fire victims in our area," continued Sudiono.
In the refugee camp, one of the fire victims, Juki, hopes that the Vice President can seek the relocation of residents affected by the fire to a safer and more appropriate location.
"If possible, (the place to live) will be moved to a more appropriate one," said Juki as quoted from the official broadcast of the Vice Presidential Secretariat.
A fire in the densely populated residential area of Kapuk Muara occurred on Friday (6/6) and completely destroyed residents' houses and other buildings. There were no fatalities as a result of the disaster, but about 1,900 residents were forced to flee in refugee tents.
