The Ministry Of Transportation Checks 34 Units Of People's Transport Buses, The Most Are KIR Problems
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Land Transportation inspects 34 units of fleets consisting of 31 tourism buses, two intercity buses in the province (AKDP) and one private bus.
This inspection or inspection was carried out at the Rest Area KM 45 of the Jagorawi Toll Road, Bogor Regency, West Java. A total of 34 buses were caught during the two days of carrying out surveillance and law enforcement activities on the transportation of people from June 7 to June 8, 2025.
Director of Road Traffic, Rudi Irawan, said this activity was carried out as a form of commitment from the Directorate General of Hubdat in improving traffic and road transportation safety and reducing the risk of accidents on people or buses.
Safety inspections or rampchecks include administrative document checks such as surveillance cards (KPS), documents for passing vehicle tests (KIR/BLU-e), STNK, and SIM. Other checks include checking the condition of the wiper, lights, tires, and the availability of light fire extinguishers (APAR) and glass solvers on the bus for emergency conditions.
Rudi said that from the implementation of the rampcheck activity for the past two days, 13 vehicles or 38 percent committed violations.
"The number of vehicles inspected in total is 34 buses, which did not violate as many as 21 buses or around 62 percent, while 13 buses or 38 percent were violated. Of the 13 buses that were prosecuted there were 16 violations," said Rudi in an official statement Monday, June 9.
Rudi said the violations committed by the 13 buses were related to the completeness of administrative documents for safety requirements such as vehicle test documents (KIR) and supervision card documents (KPS).
Furthermore, Rudi also explained that violations were dominated by vehicles that were not equipped with KPS as many as seven violations or around 44 percent.
"There have been a number of violations committed, including two buses having KIR but the validity period has run out, one bus does not have KIR, and two vehicles have fake KIR. Then three vehicles have KPS and have expired, seven vehicles do not have KPS, and one bus uses fake KPS, "explained Rudi.
Rudi explained that from the results of the analysis of the transportation of people who were prosecuted for two days, it was recorded that four vehicles committed more than one violation.
"Of the 13 buses that were prosecuted, there were four buses with more than one type of violation and nine other buses committing one type of violation," explained Rudi.
On the second day of the rampcheck activity, the Directorate General of Hubdat also removed the horn of the telolet on four buses that were checked for not complying with the rules. This step is taken because installing horns that are not in accordance with the rules can endanger safety and interfere with traffic.
