Cianjur Police Propam Examines 7 Police Persecuting Victims Of Salah Arrest
JAKARTA - The Cianjur Resort Police, West Java, conducted an examination of seven of its members suspected of molesting the victim of the wrong arrest of Nyyanyi (45), a resident of Mande District.
Acting Head of Propam Cianjur Police, Ipda Benny Sutanto, said that of the seven members suspected of carrying out the persecution, three of them were directly involved in assaulting the victim.
"We immediately carried out a special examination of members of the Cianjur Police who were suspected of being involved in the case, seven people were examined, three of whom were in direct contact with the victim," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 9.
In fact, the three members have been further investigated because they were reported to have abused the victim of wrongful arrest before and after reaching the Cianjur Police Station.
"We make sure that all members involved will undergo the legal process according to the applicable regulations, we will complete the examination to completion," he said.
Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Rohman Yonky Dilatha said he guaranteed that the legal process against members who violated the procedure continued until the legal process and ethical trial for the mistakes made.
According to him, several members involved in the case have been detained and processed at the Cianjur Police Propam unit.
"We will process it thoroughly, officers who make mistakes and actions outside the procedure will be dealt with firmly," he said.
Previously reported, Nyanyang Suherli (45), a resident of Jamali Village, Mande District, became a victim of wrongful arrests and acts of violence by police officers at the Cianjur Police, so that the victim suffered bruises all over his body, especially the face.
The wrong arrest incident experienced by the victim, who works as a coffee beans seller on a trip to the Lampegan area, Campaka District, for shopping for coffee beans from farmers, was suddenly intercepted by a number of people on June 2, 2025 nights.
He and his friend left on a motorbike. When he entered Jalan Raya Bandung-Cianjur, suddenly stopped a number of men, one of whom had stabbed his neck, so the victim rebelled because he thought he was a gang of robbers.
Arriving at the Cianjur Police Station, various acts of violence were carried out again by about six police officers against him, even he had repeatedly asked for forgiveness and when he asked why he was arrested.
