Compact Gibran And Bobby Both Acting Decisively Extortion, Immediately Remove The Head Of The Village

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) son Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Jokowi's son-in-law, Bobby Nasution are both taking firm action against illegal levies (extortion). Officials caught doing extortion will be removed.

Solo Mayor Gibran's firm action was taken when he learned of the existence of an illegal levy with the zakat model quoted from the merchant.

Accompanied by the Head of Kliwon Market Sub-district, Ari Dwi Daryanto, Gibran returned the money according to the amount of extortion collected from traders. He at once apologized for the incident.

According to Gibran, zakat can only be given by the community to the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) as an official body or institution.

"I apologize and return the money from the collection of zakat withdrawals to Gajahan residents who involve local village heads," said Gibran to shop owners who were 'victims' of extortion, reported by VOI from the Youtube news channel in Surakarta, Monday, May 3.

The amount of extortion collected from traders varies between IDR 50-100 thousand. Gibran then apologized and appealed to traders or residents who were victims of extortion to report this.

"Next time, don't want it, ma'am, even though there is a signature from the head of the village, stamp. Only BAZNAS can collect zakat fitrah, the person in the photo. I will return the money, next time don't want it. I apologize, ma'am," explained Gibran.

Gibran said that 145 shops were asked for extortion. If the total amount of extortion collected touched Rp. 11.5 million. As a public servant, village head, sub-district head should not do this because it violates the rules.

So what is Gibran's next move?

"Tomorrow we are discharged (Monday today) We, public servants, should not be like this! The village head who signed it is getting more wrong, it is dislodged,"

"The name of a bad tradition should not be continued, once again yes we are accustoming ourselves to something that is right, not to justify something that is commonplace. How come the extortion tradition is allowed, this can't, it must be cut!" Gibran said.

Bobby removes the village head in Medan

Previously, the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution removed the Head of East Sidorame Village, Medan Perjuangan District, Hermanto along with the Head of Development Section, Dina Simanjuntak. The removal was carried out by Bobby Nasution because the head of the sub-district made illegal levies (extortion) on the residents.

Mayor Bobby Nasution carried out a direct removal at the office of the East Sidorame Urban Village, Friday, April 23.

The removal was carried out in relation to residents' complaints following being asked for a certain amount of money when processing a Business Certificate (SKU) which is very much needed as one of the requirements to be able to get direct cash assistance for micro, small and medium enterprises (BLT UMKM) from the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises ( Minister of Cooperatives & UKM).

Before the removal was carried out, Bobby Nasution in his at least immediately entered the service counter room. Because in that room a few days ago, a number of residents got into a fuss because they objected to being asked for a certain amount of money while managing the SKU.

Bobby Nasution deeply regretted the actions of the East Sidorame Urban Village Head and the Head of Development Section. As a public servant, emphasized Bobby Nasution, quoting money like that should not be done. This is because both have been paid by the state and have received additional income for employees (TPP).

"Things like this are what make our image bad in society. Whatever we do, people will think we are not working. If it's like this from the lowest level, how about going to the top. For that we stop the head of the village, there is no story of asking people for money like this, "he said.
