Supporting Carbon Emission Reduction, DKI Provincial Government Reviews Five New CFD Points
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans five points for a motorized vehicle free day (CFD) to be enforced. This step is expected to have an impact on efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno explained that from the results of the analysis, CFD has proven to be effective in reducing carbon emissions.
"The carbon emissions have been proven to have gone down. It's just a moment of only one day. There is a discourse that we will build it in five locations. We are looking for it," said Rano during a CFD activity in Dukuh Atas, Central Jakarta, citing ANTARA on Sunday, June 8.
One of the areas targeted by the Provincial Government is North Jakarta, following the high carbon emissions in the area.
"Especially North Jakarta. There are industries and factories so that the emissions and air pollution are very high. This means that we have to find a place to make at least one place to reduce carbon properly," said Rano.
In addition to adding locations, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also reviewing the procurement of free vehicles at night (car free night). If CFD is carried out on Sunday morning, said Rano, then car free night can be done on Saturday night.

"What we will try is car free night. We can start at 22.00 WIB considering that there are also many people who exercise at night. The location remains here (Sudirman-Thamrin)," said Rano.
According to Rano, the increase in the duration of free time for motorized vehicles also has an impact on increasing community happiness.
"If you really want an ideal, it will be added to two days so Saturday and Sunday. It's just that on Saturday is economic, right. But if CFD is more about health. Now we add it to happiness," said Rano.
