82 Cases Of Sacrificial Animals Infected With Liverworms In The City Of Metro Lampung
There were 82 cases of sacrificial animals infected with heart worms found by the monitoring team of the Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Security Service (DKP3) Metro City, Lampung during a post mortem (autopsy) examination on the first day of slaughtering sacrificial animals. Head of DKP3 Metro City, Heri Wiratno said that from the examination of 1,410 slaughtered sacrificial animals, the disease found was dominated by liver worms. "The total sacrificial animals in Metro City are 1,410 heads consisting of goats, sheep and cows. For diseases found, the majority of liver worms with 82 cases, then also pneumonia," he said, in Metro City, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 7.
He explained that this finding was still temporary data. This is because the DKP3 monitoring team is still monitoring the second and third days of slaughtering sacrificial animals.
"That's yesterday's findings.. yes, today and tomorrow the team will still monitor places where the sacrificial animals are slaughtered," he explained.
Heri explained that in addition to heartworms and pneumonia, officers also found several other diseases, namely internal organ inflammation and also runoff swelling. "Then there are also findings of cows that are not old enough to be used as sacrificial animals," said the Head of Metro DKP3.

Heri added that officers also recommend that the deterrent organs exposed to parasites and acute liver worm disease be destroyed by burying them.
Meanwhile, the Bandarlampung City Government (Pemkot) deployed a team of veterinarians to check the meat that had been slaughtered on the sacrificial day or Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri. "When the slaughtering of sacrificial animals we sent a veterinarian of seven people and his assistant to check the sacrificial meat that had been slaughtered in mosques," said the Head of the Bandarlampung City Agriculture Service Erwin.
