Indonesia Could Be An Equally Prosperous Country, Minister Of Finance Sri Mulyani Reveals The Requirements
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani said that to create more equitable prosperity, it is necessary to initiate and discuss it by various parties, including the government, the private sector, and other stakeholders.
"Of course, to have a more equitable shared welfare, our country needs to have more basic services and basic infrastructure", she said in an official statement, Monday, May 3.
Minister of Finance added that basic services and infrastructure that a country must have to achieve equitable development include road construction to accelerate connectivity, access to electricity, supply of clean water, and internet connection.
Furthermore, the former boss of the IMF and World Bank also explained that these requirements were needed so that prosperity could be distributed more evenly across regions, across income groups either within one country or globally.
"And secondly, human capital is the most important asset any country has, and that's why investing in human resources will be so important", she said.
The third aspect that is needed so that the prosperity of a country can be more equitable is the health sector. In fact, the development of telemedicine technology is very important. Because, like in Indonesia, a country that has many islands and some of them are still very remote, the community is still quite limited in getting services to specialist doctors.
But now, the government through the Ministry of Finance claims that it is easier for people to be able to access specialist doctors for advanced medical services.
"The last thing we need to pay attention to is governance, be it government governance or in this case public sector governance, corporate governance, and global governance", she said.
Then, the Minister of Finance also said that good public sector governance must be able to bring about a balanced interaction between stakeholders and the public.
"This two-way communication can also prevent fraud in government administration", concluded the Minister of Finance.
