JAKARTA - Malaysia's Perak Law Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Living Costs (KPDN) confiscated 5,540 kilograms (KG) of packaged cooking oil worth RM14,233 with a faked halal logo.
The director of the KPDN's Silver Law Enforcement Division, Kamalludin Ismail, said the confiscation was carried out after a raid on a cooking oil packaging factory in the Jelapang Light Industrial Estate, Wednesday, June 4 at around 14.30 noon.
"After the examination, it was found that the halal certification issued for the factory owner had been suspended for violating the provisions of halal certification," he said in a statement, Thursday, June 5, quoted from Bernama.
