Indonesia Open 2025: 5 Host Representatives Qualify For Quarter Finals

JAKARTA Indonesia placed five representatives in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Open 2025 after Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto also got tickets.

Fajar/Rian secured the last ticket after overthrowing Chen Bo Yang/Liu Yi from China with a score of 21-18 and 21-12 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, WIB night.

The sixth seed's success resulted in the Indonesian men's doubles having two representatives in the quarter-finals. Another pair is Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

The other three tickets were secured by mixed doubles Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil, women's singles Kusuma Wardani, and women's doubles Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi.

The Indonesian men's singles number no longer has representatives after Jonatan Christie and Alwi Farhan were both eliminated in the second half. They followed in the footsteps of Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo who returned early in the first half.

Other representatives who were also eliminated in the second round were Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, Apriyani Rahayu/Febi Setianingrum, Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, and Siti Sarah Azzahra/Agnia Sri Rahayu.

The quarter-finals of the BWF Super 1000 event will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025. The series of matches will start at 09.00 WIB.

Putri Kusuma Wardani will play the first. She took part in the second match of Field 1 against former world number one and third seed belonging to Japan, Akane Yamaguchi.

Adnan/Indah followed in the same third-field party. The pair will face French mixed doubles Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue.

Febriana/Amallia play in the same fourth party in the same field as well. The sixth seed will meet a tough challenge against the third seed from South Korea, namely Baek Ha-na/Lee So-he.

Fajar/Rian also appeared in Field 1 of the eighth party. The former world number one and sixth seed met again with representatives of China, namely the Huang Di/Liu Yang pair.

The Sabar/Reza pair will play in the ninth match of Field 2. They will be tested by the first seed from Malaysia, Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin.
