Florian Wirtz Denies News Wanting T-shirt Number 10 At Liverpool

JAKARTA - Florian Wirtz has denied reports that he wants a jersey number 10 to join Liverpool this summer. This confirms rumors that the Bayer Leverkusen star that his move to Anfield is ongoing.

According to ESPN reports, Liverpool has made an offer that could break the club's record of 130 million euros for the playmaker. While reports in Germany show that Wirtz wants the number 10 jersey worn by Alexis Mac Allister.

However, Wirtz hit back at the rumors on Instagram on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, with his faint upload showing that talks were ongoing between the two clubs.

"Who said I wanted the number 10 jersey. I respect the players. Don't believe everything is written," wrote Wirtz on Instagram Story.

Wirtz is expected to continue playing in the Bundesliga next season, either with Leverkusen or Bayern Munich.

However, it was widely heard that Wirtz wanted to move to the Premier League because it was impressed by Arne Slot's plan.

Meanwhile, the captain of the German National Team, Joshua Kimmich, acknowledged this week that he hopes to play with Wirtz at club and international levels.

"He definitely has a reason to make this decision. I hope this is the right way for him."

"As a Bayern Munich player, of course I want him to join us," said Kimmich.

Wirtz has scored 57 goals and 65 assists in 197 appearances for Leverkusen.
