Rio Ferdinand: Manchester United's Problem Makes Me A Laughing Material
JAKARTA - Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand told ESPN Brazil that being an expert during the recent difficulties of the Red Devils has made it a meme on social media and a laughing stock.
Ferdinand has announced that he will leave his role in TNT Sports. Now, he has been the center of attention in recent years as Manchester United struggles on and off the pitch.
Former England defender, who won six Premier League titles and one Champions League in 12 years with the Red Devils, said it was difficult to be covered.
"It's sad, guys. I'm on TV, I have to talk about this. I'm on TV, everyone can mock me."

"Sometimes, I became a meme on social media because of my team. So, difficult, my friends, I was a commentator at the worst time at Manchester through this terrible moment."
"So, I'm more than anyone, just like anyone else, want Manchester United to get up just for that reason so I can scream and reply to their joke. You see, I've been a laughing stock for a lot of people because of United at this time," Ferdinand told ESPN Brazil.
Ferdinand also said he was not surprised by players like Scott McTominay in Napoli and Antony-- who spent part of the season on loan at Real Betis--showing well outside Manchester United, caused by pressure changes.
"They come into an environment at Manchester United that is less confident, depressed, deeply injured from things that have happened before. The team is now changing, again tactically."
"At Manchester United it is different. The pressure is enormous. These people went to Napoli and had gone to Betis, without intending to be disrespectful, but the pressure they face is smaller."
"You see their best version. I'm happy for them, that's good," said Ferdinand.
