Prabowo's Sacrificial Cow Reaches 1.3 Tons, The Toughest In The Istiqlal Mosque
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Istiqlal Mosque received dozens of sacrificial animals from various groups including President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, ahead of Eid al-Adha 1446 H.
Chairman of the Istiqlal Mosque Idul Kurban Committee, Abu Hurairah, said that President Prabowo's sacrificial cows were a special concern because of their extraordinary weight.
The sacrificial animal from the President is a limousine cow, weighing approximately 1.3 tons. The Vice President's cow is also large, about 1.1 tons. But it is certain that the President's cow is heavier, between 1.2 and 1.3 tons. So it's the heaviest," said Abu Hurairah as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 4.
"The tradition is that the President's sacrificial animal is the heaviest, the biggest. Later the others will be under the President," he said.
To date, around 50 cows and more than 60 goats have been received by the Istiqlal Mosque committee, Jakarta.
"The most obvious comes from the President, Vice President, then from the Minister of Religion, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Megawati, the National Police Chief, the Governor of Bank Indonesia, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, and several ministries," said Abu Hurairah.

"One of the most unique, like in previous years, is the participation of the romo at the Jakarta Cathedral Church which also sends sacrificial animals," he said.
All sacrificial animals will be distributed to people in need and the slaughter process will be carried out in accordance with Islamic law and by paying attention to aspects of distribution cleanliness and feasibility.
