Usually Ballad, Mawar De Jongh Challenged To Sing OST Film Stay Dead
JAKARTA - Singer and actress, Mawar de Jongh, is trusted to perform a song called "Landing" which will be the original soundtrack (OST) for the film "Just Died". This is Mawar's first experience filling out a film theme song.
Living Death alone is a comedy drama film directed by Kristo Immanuel and his wife, Jessica Tjiu, as co-director and screenwriter. In addition to bringing the soundtrack, Mawar also plays a character named Kerin.
"This is my first 'original sound track' too. So far, if I play a film, I have never filled out a 'soundtrack'," said Mawar during a press conference in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, citing ANTARA on Wednesday, June 4.
Initially, Mawar was constrained by the adjustment of the vocal character because Kristo Immanuel's song "beat" was tough.
After discussing with Kristo, the composition of the initial melody that seemed masculine because of the harsh tempo of his "beat" can be adjusted to Mawar's vocal character.
In addition, there is a slight composition of the lyrics by Mawar so that it produces a version of the song "Stay" released by Trinity Optima Production on his YouTube channel today.
The theme song received praise from Trinity Optima Production CEO Yonathan Nugroho who paid close attention to the alignment of the sound between the song and the nuances of the film.
"After I listened to it many times, the 'mod' of this song is very, very supportive of the film. With all kinds of comedy and worry, I think the song can really reflect that," said Yonathan.
Yonathan was also impressed with Mawar because even though his previous songs tended to be broken-themed ballads, he was able to show a different vocal character but still of high quality in this "upbeat" song.
"I think Mawar's previous vocal character could be the power of this song," said Yonathan.
Meanwhile, Kristo explained that he had created the song before the film "Living to Die" was produced.
Kristo initially thought producer Ernest Prakasa from Imaginari Pictures ordered a song to be used as the theme song for the film "Agak Laen", but it wasn't.
Furthermore, Kristo explained that the song "Having to" tells the story of people who want to apologize to someone who is actually reluctant to accept it.
"Even though he really is sincere, feels guilty, and really wants to change. That's why the chorus of this song has the lyrics 'Until you're tired'. That means, until people are tired of listening to apologies many times," said Kristo.
