Concerning Copyright, Eminem Demands Meta To Pay IDR 1.7 Trillion For Music
JAKARTA - Rapper Marshall Mathers or Eminem filed a lawsuit against Meta, a giant company that oversees Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. He demanded USD109 million, or the equivalent of 1.7 trillion for his songs that were used without permission.
The lawsuit was filed by the Rap God through the Eight Mile Style label on May 30 yesterday. Quoting E! News, Eminem is targeting features on infringing Meta platforms such as Reels Remix and Original Audio.
The use of music on Instagram and Facebook is considered to support the potential spread to irresponsible reproduction. He said his lawsuit included storage, reproduction, and illegal exploitation by the large platform.
The reproducated songs are considered to reduce the potential benefits proposed by the plaintiff for their work. Therefore, he applied for compensation with fantastic numbers.
