Police Are Still Investigating Members Of The Southwest Maluku DPRD Allegedly Involved In Obscenity Cases

JAKARTA - The police are still investigating allegations of sexual violence (TPKS) committed by the Navy, unscrupulous members of the Southwest DPRD (MBD).

Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Kombes Pol Areis Aminnulla, said the victim with the initials SHM had reported on April 2, 2024.

"The investigation is ongoing based on reports of complaints from victims as well as a number of official documents supporting the legal process, such as reports on the results of case titles and investigation warrants issued from April to May 2024," said Areis in Ambon, Wednesday, June 4, which was confiscated by Antara.

Cases of alleged sexual abuse and sexual intercourse have occurred repeatedly in several crime scenes (TKP) since April 2021. Until now, the police have examined a number of witnesses, including victims, reported parties, and several other witnesses.

In the case of sexual abuse, five witnesses have been examined, while in the case of sexual intercourse as many as six witnesses, including the reported who were examined in January 2025.

Investigators have also made a request for Visum et Repertum Psychiatricum, the result of which is a Certificate of Psychological Examination from a Regional Special Hospital in July 2024.

However, in the process of this investigation, the MBD Police faced a number of obstacles, such as the lack of witnesses directly at the first crime scene and the delay in reports that made physical post mortem impossible.

"The incidence in 2021 is minimal, because at that time the witness did not know about the incident directly. Only after the victim's report, the witness was willing to provide information," said Kombes Areis.

Another obstacle is the delay in reporting until 2024, while the victim is pregnant and gave birth in 2023 and 2024, so the post-mortem cannot be carried out.

In addition, investigators are still waiting for information from dr. Ade Linggi, a psychiatrist at the Ambon Hospital, who until now has not been able to provide information because he is busy serving other patients. Examination of dr. Ade Linggi and a criminal expert are planned to strengthen the investigation.

After the examination of the two experts, a joint case will be held between the MBD Police and the Maluku Police Ditreskrimum to determine the continuation of the investigation of the victim's report.

Kombes Areis emphasized that the investigation process was serious and did not stagnate as previously reported. He also hopes that the media can report this case by upholding the journalistic code of ethics.
