The Minister Of Manpower Denies Job Fair Is Just A Company Formality
JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker), Yassierli, denied that the implementation of job fair was only a formality. According to him, this arises because baseless issues often go viral in society.
"If there is something strange, it goes viral. Can you believe that we invited 102 companies yesterday, all of them are formality? Believe it? Do you believe it or not? No," he told the media crew when met at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Wednesday, June 4.
In fact, he said, the implementation of job fair does not have to be held often because the goal is not merely to open job vacancies. However, he emphasized that the Naker Fest is a wider form of job fair.
In addition to presenting a vacancy provider company, Naker Fest is said to provide career consulting services, access to training information through work training centers, as well as educational activities such as talk shows and successful entrepreneurial stories.

"Indeed, job fair doesn't need to be done often. We said yesterday that we carried out a job fair called Naker Fest. So it's not just an event that we invite companies in nature, then they open vacancies. Of course not," he explained.
On the other hand, he also did not completely dismiss the possibility of companies participating in job fairs just as a formality. However, according to him, the efforts built by the government have received appreciation from many companies.
"Then is there a company that has a formality? I also can't say no. But I'm sure what we are building now is certainly appreciated by the company," he said.
