Director: Cillian Murphy Will Return To 28 Days Later Third
JAKARTA - Director Danny Boyle answered questions about the possible return of Cillian Murphy in the 28 Days Later film franchise. Previously, they revealed that the actor had only joined as a producer for the 28 Years Later film which will air this month.
Murphy is known to be the main character in the 28 Days Later film which became the first film of the franchise. When the sequel was announced, Murphy's name was not seen on the cast list.
"He (Cillian Murphy) is in the next film. I can't give too much information," Danny Boyle quoted IGN as saying.
Boyle and Alex Garland made the 28 Days Later trilogy starting from their first film in 2002.
Boyle's answer came to light after fans suspected Murphy's character, Jim of the 28 Days Later, was seen in the trailer for the 28 Years Later film. They said Jim got a viral infection and appeared in the trailer.

However, the director replied that the figure was an extra similar to Cillian Murphy and not the actor.
In a different interview, Danny Boyle revealed that Cillian Murphy will have a significant role in his third film. Currently, Murphy is the executive producer for his second film.
I know the story idea that has been arranged from the start so it's really good to use it. There's an introduction to the character in the second film and when I saw I felt "Oh that's pretty good" because I've seen the rough cut version, "said Boyle.
28 Years Later will introduce some of the new characters played by Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes.
Meanwhile, the 28 Years Later film will air this June, while 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is scheduled to air on January 16, 2026.
