Reprimanded By The Minister Of Education And Culture, Dedi Mulyadi Set School Entry Hours In West Java Starting At 06.30
BOGOR Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, has ensured changes in school entry hours for all levels of education in his area starting the coming new school year.
This policy, according to Dedi, was taken as part of the arrangement of the education system to be more effective and in line with the dynamics of family life.
"Starting from the new school year, all levels of education in West Java, SD, SMP, SMA will start going to school at 06.30, with learning days from Monday to Friday," said Dedi Mulyadi while attending an activity in Bogor City, Tuesday, June 4.
He explained that this adjustment of hours aims to encourage the involvement of parents in children's daily activities. "If it comes at 6.30, parents can take their children to school before leaving for work. So it is more efficient and strengthens family relations," he added.
Dedi emphasized that this change is not just a matter of time, but is part of a strategic step to fix education in West Java. He considered that the spirit of learning and student behavior showed a positive trend that needed to be supported by the right policies.
Previously, the Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti emphasized the importance of all parties, including West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, to follow the rules set by the ministry regarding the implementation of teaching and learning activities in elementary and secondary schools.
"This is not only a matter of school hours, but there are provisions from the ministry regarding the duration of learning and school days that have been regulated nationally," Mu'ti explained as quoted by ANTARA.
Abdul Mu'ti hopes that the policies issued by local governments, including Dedi Mulyadi's instructions in West Java, can be in line with ministry regulations. He reminded the provincial, district and city governments to understand and formulate policies that do not conflict with central regulations.
In May, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi planned to roll out a new policy for all students in his area to enter school at 06.00 WIB.
This is in line with his wish that the schedule for entering schools in the province is only until Friday. According to West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, the change in school schedule aims to create a disciplined lifestyle.
