JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the former Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah could have been summoned regarding allegations of corruption in the placement of foreign workers or the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA). Everything depends on the statements of the witnesses presented in this case.

"Information and information from the witnesses are still being investigated and analyzed. What are the needs for the future, we'll wait," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted Wednesday, June 4.

Budi ensured that summons would also be made to anyone suspected of knowing this fraudulent practice. Every information submitted will definitely be followed up.

"So far, the KPK is still investigating every information and information submitted by the witnesses in the examination conducted in front of investigators," he said.

The name Ida, who served as Minister of Manpower in the 2019-2024 period, emerged after Suhartono as former Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK) of the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) was questioned. He was questioned by investigators at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Monday, June 2.

To reporters, he admitted that he often reported his work to Ida through leadership meetings (rapid). However, Suhartono did not specifically explain what he told the National Awakening Party (PKB) politician.

"This is a report that there must be one report, right, to the superior," he said at the time.

Suhartono as Director General of the Ministry of Manpower usually receives reports from his subordinates during the meeting. So, he claims he does not know anything about the alleged extortion.

As for this case, eight suspects have been named by the KPK. Although it has not been officially announced, Suhartono is said to be entangled with Haryanto, who has also served as Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK) of the Ministry of Manpower.

While the other suspect is the WP as Director of the Directorate of Foreign Labor Licensing Control (PPTKA) of the Ministry of Manpower; GW who is the Head of the Sub-Directorate and the Commitment and Coordinating Officer; and PCW, JS, AE as staff.

This extortion, continued Asep, was carried out by the Directorate General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Ditjen Binapenta and PKK).

"(The Ministry of Manpower at the Directorate General of Binapenta collects or forces someone to give something," Asep said when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, May 20.

Asep said the suspects were suspected of violating Article 12e or Article 12b of the Anti-Corruption Law. The practice is alleged to have occurred for the period 2020-2023.
