Neuralink Raup Rp10 Trillion! Human Brain Chip Trial Officially Begins

JAKARTA - Elon Musk's neurotech company, Neuralink, has again shocked the world after successfully raising fresh US$650 million (around Rp10.6 trillion) in its latest funding round. The funding of the giant was announced on Monday 2 June 2025 and occurred just as their revolutionary brain implant chip officially entered the clinical trial phase.

Neuralink stated that the funds will be used to expand access to this technology to more patients, especially those experiencing unresolved medical needs. This funding helps us bring our technology to more people returning their independence and pushing for limits on possible brain-computer interfaces," the company wrote in its official statement.

Currently, five patients with severe paralysis have used Neuralink to control digital and physical devices with only their minds. This device is equipped with a chip that processes neural signals and transmits them to computers or smartphones.

Not only that, Neuralink has also obtained a breakthrough from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for two of its medical devices: one for recovering speech, and another for restoring vision. This status is given to accelerate the development and approval of medical devices that are considered important and promising.

The clinical trials of Neuralink's chips have now taken place in three countries, although these countries have not been mentioned in detail.

In the midst of this breakthrough, Elon Musk also made a surprising decision by resigning from his position as a special adviser to the US President, Donald Trump. Musk said he wanted to refocus on his company, including Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, X (formerly Twitter), and of course Neuralink.

In addition, according to media reports, Morgan Stanley is currently drafting a $5 billion debt package for AI company Musk, xAI, which is now seeking a valuation of 113 billion US dollars through the sale of 300 million US dollars worth of shares.

Neuralink's large funding this time was supported by top investors such as ARK Invest, Sequoia Capital, DFJ Growth, Founders Fund, Thrive Capital, G42, QIA, Human Capital, Valor Equity Partners, Lightspeed, and Vy Capital. According to a Semafor report last month, prior to this injection of funds, Neuralink had a valuation of around 9 billion US dollars.

With technology constantly growing rapidly and massive financial support, Neuralink is now on a fast path to realizing a futuristic vision: connecting the human mind directly to the digital world. The human future may have just changed and Neuralink is at the forefront of its revolution.
