West Java Officially Implements E-Budgeting And E-Voting In Villages

BANDUNG - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of West Java (Jabar) has officially issued a policy to implement e-budgeting for financial management and e-voting for the distribution of political aspirations, in all villages in West Java.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said that as of today, he has signed a policy for around 5,000 villages in West Java to implement digitalization in village financial management and village head elections.

"So two things that I signed today and will apply in all villages in West Java," said Dedi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 3.

By implementing e-budgeting, said Dedi, all transactions and management of village finances will be carried out digitally, from incoming money and spending will be digital, so that it can also detect if there is fraud or misuse of village finances, so that the control will be better, more open and more transparent.

Meanwhile, regarding e-voting, Dedi said this to ensure that villagers choose their leaders easily digitally.

"These two frameworks are the most important part in realizing the principles of public service and democracy in West Java," he said.

Dedi hopes that e-budgeting and e-voting will realize a new spirit for all villages with the holding of village head elections that are cheap, supported by fast public services and transparent finance.

Previously, Dedi conveyed his plan to change the election of village heads from conventional to digital through e-voting. This plan was conveyed in the inauguration of the West Java All-Indonesian Village Government Association (Apdesi) DPD, at Gedung Sate Bandung, Thursday (15/5).

He wants to bring a new change to the digital era by presenting an e-voting armed with the experience of managing the village system in Purwakarta during 2 terms as Regent.

"At that time there was one village, that was one TPS Panjang. I changed that per TPS per RT. Soon, we will try to answer the west village head election with e-Voting. We will try it," he said again.

Dedi also suggested to the Ministry of Villages that the village funds that were channeled would later use e-budgeting and with digitization to clearly record the flow of financing they used.
