Famous Dubber Keiji Fujiwara Dies

JAKARTA - The death of Keiji Fujiwara on Sunday, April 12, Japan time was confirmed by his agency, today, Friday, April 17. Fujiwara died at the age of 55 from his cancer.

During his life, the figure of Fujiwara is known to voice various anime, including Hunter x Hunter, Pokemon Generations, and Fullmetal Alchemist.

Starting his career since studying the theater major, Fujiwara chose to engage in voice acting. He debuted as a voice actor in the RPG Densetsu Hepoi in the early 1990s.

Later, he appeared as a regular in Yokoyama Mitsuteru Sangokushi (Romance of Three Kingdoms). However, his most memorable role is when he was the father of Shinnosuke in Crayon Sinchan since 1992.

In addition, he often voices international films released in Japan, one of which is Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr. in the Avengers movie. After creating his own agency, Air Agency, Fujiwara also started his career as a teaching lecturer at Japan Newart College in 2008.

In 2016, he decided to take a break from work to start treatment for his illness, but he remains a voice actor alongside taking care of his health.

Reporting from Oricon News, his agency explained that recently, Fujiwara has been battling cancer. But now he has rested in peace. His funeral ceremony was attended only by his closest relatives.

His final work can be heard through the animation Zashiki Warashi no Tatami Chan which was released on April 10. Fujiwara plays the manager of a karaoke place in the anime.
