Minister Of Health: COVID-19 Has Indeed Increased, No Need To Worry Too Much

Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin after meeting President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, admitted that there was an increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indonesia.

After meeting with President Prabowo Subianto for about 2.5 hours, the Minister of Health said the Head of State asked about the latest developments in COVID-19 cases in Indonesia.

"It's about COVID, he asked what it was like. I said that the COVID-19 had indeed increased," said the Minister of Health as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 3.

Budi explained that the number of COVID-19 cases came from a subvariant that was categorized as not turning off the offender.

Therefore, the Minister of Health asked the public not to panic too much about the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia.

"These increases are relatively non-lethal variants. So, don't worry too much so that people don't panic," he said.

The Minister of Health added that the trend of increasing COVID-19 cases in a number of countries has indeed increased, which comes from the Omicron JN.1 subvariant.
