Monty Tiwa's Film Sciences Are Not Used In GJLS My Mother's Mother, Mothers: Sinema Collision

JAKARTA - Director Monty Tiwa is back with his latest film this year, GJLS: My mother's mother. Through this film, he collaborated with GJLS broadcasts consisting of Hifdzi Khoir, Ananta Rispo, and Rigen Rakelna.

As a fan of podcasts, Monty tries to make a film with the nuances of GJLS, not the members of GJLS who play in the film.

"I am very lucky because I am a GJLS fan. To get the opportunity to direct them, I have warned myself that the GJLS film, which is Monty, is not Monty, which has GJLS," said director Monty Tiwa at a press conference in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, June 3.

"Their job is really random. Just ignore it, but if it's not sewn up by a 90-minute storytelling, it's confusing. It doesn't matter to me," he continued.

Because he made this film, Monty Tiwa didn't even use his knowledge because it was a mess. He also said that GJLS broke the 5th wall, namely when players instead spoke to the director.

I tried to formulate what happened. My film science is a mess. There is said to beaking the 4th wall but on the sin breaking the 5th wall because Rispo talked to me," said Monty.

"My function is to provide the stage for them how high, how wide is it on stage. Back again when I hit any cinema I agreed. From that side I finally entered," he said.

GJLS: My mother's mother tells the story of three siblings, namely Hifdzi, Rispo and Rigen who try to thwart her father's (Bucek) relationship by doing various ways.

The film GJLS: My Mother and Mother will hit theaters starting June 12, 2025.
