Tamblang Dam Worked By PTPP Officially Completed
JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) proudly announced the completion of the Tamblang Dam construction in Buleleng Regency, Bali. This national strategic project was successfully completed on time with 100 percent realization progress according to the target, marking an important achievement in the management of water resources in Indonesia.
With a total contract value of IDR 820.8 billion (including VAT), this project was implemented for 1,460 calendar days from December 28, 2018 to December 27, 2022, in an operating cooperation scheme (Joint Operation) with the proportion of PTPP as a leader.
PTPP's Corporate Secretary, Joko Raharjo, explained that the Tamblang dam was designed to provide significant benefits for the surrounding community. Among other things, Joko continued, this dam provides irrigation water for an area of 588 hectares in DI Bungkulan and DI Bulian. In addition, it also provides raw water of 510 liters/second for Kubu Added District and Sawan District.
Not only that, the presence of this Tamblang dam can produce clean energy through Micro Hydro Power Plants (PLTM) with a capacity of 0.54 MW and function as flood control in the surrounding area.
One of the main highlights of this project is the use of Asphalt Concrete Core Embankment Dam (ACCED) technology, making Tamblang Dam the first asphalt core dam in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The change in this method is carried out as an innovative solution to the limited content at the location, with the support of international experts and consultants.

"With the construction based on rock urugs (rockfills) and rigid cores from asphalt concrete, this dam follows the global trend of modern dam construction, as has been applied in developed countries such as Germany, Norway, and China," said Joko, Tuesday, June 3.
Joko further said that the successful development of the Tamblang Dam emphasized PTPP's commitment to supporting national water security and food security in accordance with the Asta Cita program, as well as showing Indonesia's engineering and innovation capabilities in building world-class infrastructure.
