Ange Postecoglou Prepares To Know His Fate At Tottenham Hotspur This Week

JAKARTA - Ange Postecoglou is preparing to find out about his fate as Tottenham Hotspur Manager this week after the club began announcing changes to the board of directors on Monday, June 2, 2025, with the departure of Executive Director Donna-Maria Cullen.

According to ESPN reports, Postecoglou's work is threatened. Those who are close to the 59-year-old coach believe he is at high risk of losing his job despite successfully ending Spurs' 17-year wait to win trophies by winning the Europa League last month.

Postecoglou brought Spurs to their worst Premier League season, including 22 defeats - the most defeats in a season without relegation.

He is currently on vacation after admitting that he is not sure if he will spend the last two years on his contract.

Meanwhile, the new Spurs Executive Director, Vinai Venkatesham, has now started working.

He will play a role in determining Postecoglou's fate as part of a series of changes to the club structure.

In an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation on Monday, June 2, 2025 while on vacation with family in Greece, Postecoglou said he didn't want to let the club just enjoy the moment because he wanted us to think about what would happen next.

"Don't be satisfied with this (the Europa League title). We've felt it now. My players have felt it."

"This club is also feeling it. OK, let's make sure we come back here again," he told ABC.

So far, there are several candidates to replace Postecoglou, such as Brentford manager Thomas Frank, Fulham Marco Silva, and Bournemouth Manager Andoni Iraola, although the latter are expected to sign a new contract to stay on the south coast.

The final decision regarding the future of Postecoglou is expected to be taken in the coming days.

Apart from that, on Monday, June 2, 2025, British time morning, Tottenham announced in a statement that Cullen would resign from his post as the most trusted adviser to owner Daniel Levy.

Cullen, who joined the Spurs board in 2006 and was trustee of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said he wanted more time for the family.

"This is a very difficult decision to make. This club has been my life for the last three decades."

"I have the privilege of working with Daniel, whose vision and energy have pushed the club forward, as well as so many talented and great colleagues."

"This is a long journey, starting at White Hart Lane, with a short visit at Wembley, and finally our new home -- a great memento at home and away. Ending the season with the Europa League trophy is a dream come true."

"It's now time for me to spend more time for myself and my family. I thank you for all their support over the years."

"I will spend the next few months to ensure my staff handover runs smoothly. Thank you everyone. I wish everyone at this club success in the world," said Donna-Maria Cullen.

Levy also gave a farewell in memory of what Cullen had given Spurs.

"Donna has made a huge contribution to this club, for a long period of time."

"The responsibility for its various growth significantly and replacing its role with just one person is impossible."

"While many may associate it primarily with marketing and communications, Donna's influence goes far beyond those areas."

"Especially, his leadership and political sharpness on the planning committee play an important role in the club's efforts to build one of the best stadiums and training centers in the world," Levy said.

Venkatesham has advertised candidates to work with him in supporting roles. While there are also significant doubts over the position of football chief of staff Scott Munn and possible changes that will occur in the medical team and sports science.
