Chromebook Laptop Corruption, AGO Searches Apartment 3 Stafsus Nadiem Makarim
The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) continues to investigate the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebooks at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) for the 2019 '2022 period. Recent developments, investigators have searched apartments belonging to three special staff (stafsus) from Nadiem Makarim, who at that time served as Minister of Education and Culture.
"Yes, that's right (the search for the apartment of three staff members of Nadiem Makarim)," said Head of the AGO, Harli Siregar when confirmed, Tuesday, June 3.
The first raids were carried out in two apartment units located in South Jakarta, on May 21, 2025. The two apartments each met with fire belonging toatur Handayani (FH) and Jurist Tan (JT).
It was not clearly detailed about the evidence confiscated from the raid. However, from the information obtained, investigators confiscated several documents.
Then, two days later, investigators again searched an apartment unit in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta.
Regarding this, Harli said that the apartment unit that was searched by investigators belonged to Ibrahim Arif, as a staff member as well as a technical staff from Nadiem Makarim.
"What was confiscated was in the form of electronic evidence such as cellphones and laptops," said Harli.
Currently, investigators are still investigating the alleged corruption case. Regarding the possibility that the investigation of Nadiem Makarim will later be determined by investigators.
This allegation of corruption was detected when it was suspected that there was an evil conspiracy by various parties by directing a technical team to conduct a technical study related to the procurement of equipment assistance related to technology education in 2020.
"To be directed at the use of laptops based on Chrome operating system (operative system)," he said.
In fact, he said, the use of Chromebooks is not a necessity because in 2019, a trial of the use of 1,000 Chromebooks by the Pustekom Kemendikbudristek was carried out and the results were ineffective.
