MacOS 26, Apple Will Use The Name Lake Tahoe

JAKARTA Apple has always given macOS a name, the operating system (OS) for Macs, the latest version. Like in previous years, the iPhone manufacturer used the geographical name of the California region.

Based on the Bloomberg leak, the next generation macOS will be named Tahoe, taken from the name Lake Tahoe that extends between California and Nevada. It is not known why the name of this lake was chosen as the latest version of macOS.

An internal company source said that this lake is often used as a vacation spot for Apple employees because it has a famous resort area. In addition, the lake view is also attractive because the water reflects the light.

This light shower allows visitors to see the surrounding scenery. Although not related, the view of Lake Tahoe is considered to be in line with this year's macOS design which is reported to be like a glass with windows, buttons, and icons that penetrate light.

Apart from using the name Lake Tahoe, Apple is also rumored to be redesigning its OS. The technology company will change all its OS names, including macOS, which is commonly referred to in the form of numbers.

This year, Apple was supposed to launch macOS 19, but that number will be changed to '26'. This is not only true in macOS, but also in iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tovisionOS. Apple wants to align the version of the numbers.

That way, Apple will introduce macOS 26 or macOS Tahoe this year. Until now, there has been no confirmation from Apple regarding the changes and naming of the OS. To find out if this information is true, we need to wait until WWDC 2025 is held.
