OIKN Boss: Commemoration Of Worship Symbols Of Inter-religious Harmony

The Capital Authority of the Archipelago (IKN) said that the construction of a worship complex in the capital city of Indonesia in Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province, is a symbol of inter-religious harmony in Indonesia.

"The IKN vision as a city that upholds tolerance and harmony among religious believers," said Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 3.

He said, the symbol of harmony and inclusivity in the heart of the capital city of Indonesia can be seen from the worship complex currently in the development process.

In the worship complex in IKN, a state mosque was built, temples, monasteries, temples, Christian and Catholic churches as symbols of the capital city of Indonesia as an inclusive city of the future and embrace diversity.

The construction of places of worship that are currently being held, he said, is a state mosque, while the Catholic church will then be built.

He explained that the construction of places of worship in one complex is not just a physical project, but has a deep philosophical meaning, believes in upholding tolerance and harmony between religious communities in IKN.

"The construction of worship facilities for the community is very important and as part of a symbol of harmony in the capital city of Indonesia," he said.

He said the capital city of Indonesia was built as an inclusive, multi-cultural area, and was not only inhabited by certain ethnic or religious communities.
