BMKG: Big Cities In Indonesia Potential Light Rain To Lightning Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that thick cloudy weather and light rain can be experienced by major cities in Indonesia on Tuesday, June 3.

In the online weather forecast followed by ANTARA Jakarta, BMKG forecaster Zhenny Husna said that thick cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Banda Aceh, Tanjung Pinang, Bengkulu and Jambi with running air in Palembang and smoke / speeding in Padang.

He also conveyed the potential for light rain in Medan, Pekanbaru, and Pangkal Pinang as well as rain accompanied by lightning in Bandar Lampung.

"On the island of Java, it is predicted that there will be thick clouds in the cities of Serang, Jakarta, Semarang and Surabaya as well as light rain in the cities of Bandung and Yogyakarta," he said.

During today's period in the Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions, BMKG predicts sunny cloudy weather in Kupang, cloudy in Denpasar and thick cloudy in Mataram.

Light rain is predicted to fall in the Palangkaraya and Tanjung Selor areas on the island of Kalimantan today, while Samarinda, Banjarmasin and Pontianak can experience rain accompanied by lightning.

On the island of Sulawesi, only Makassar is predicted to experience thick cloudy weather with light rain that has the potential to fall in the Kendari, Mamuju, Palu, Manado and Gorontalo areas.

BMKG predicts major cities in eastern Indonesia can also experience light rain today, including in Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayapura, Jayawijaya and Merauke, while Ternate has the potential to experience moderate rain.
