Minister Of Religion Nasaruddin Urges Pilgrims To Save Energy Ahead Of The Peak Of Worship In Mina

Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar asked pilgrims to avoid non-essential activities while in Mina and had to manage physical and labor readiness in order to complete the entire series of ejections.

"If wusuf in Arafah is like a transit, then in Mina this is the peak. If we don't save energy, it could be problematic later at the peak of the implementation (jumrah throwing)," said Minister of Religion Nasaruddin, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 3.

The Minister of Religion's statement was delivered when directly observing the readiness of tents and facilities in the Mina area ahead of the peak of Hajj 1446 Hijri/2025 AD.

The Minister of Religion appealed to pilgrims to avoid direct sunlight, especially during the day. Pilgrims are advised to use umbrellas, wet their heads with water, and take advantage of the afternoon or evening for activities outside the tent.

"Don't gather under very hot heat. Use time wisely to stay healthy until the end of worship," he said.

The Minister of Religion also reminded the congregation to prioritize mandatory worship and not to drain energy for non-essential activities.

"We urge the congregation not to go around too much, travel everywhere. Focus on storing energy," he said.

Furthermore, he said that some of the Indonesian congregation's tents were about three kilometers from the location of the jumrah ejector, while others reached up to seven kilometers in one direction.

"So we can reach 14 kilometers back and forth. We are grateful that this year the location of the Indonesian congregation's tents is relatively closer and not placed in Mina Jadid," he said.

The Indonesian government, he said, had coordinated with the Saudi Arabian authorities from the start so that pilgrims would get appropriate and ideal locations, including avoiding placement in areas that were fictitiously judged outside Mina by some scholars.

He appreciated the Saudi Arabian government's efforts to improve the crowd control management system implemented in this year's Hajj season.

"We are grateful that there are new buildings and infrastructure, including ladder access and evacuation routes. This all supports the smooth running and safety of the congregation," he said.
