Bogor City Government And Regency Government Collaborate To Handle Waste With KLH Support

BOGOR Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim emphasized the importance of utilizing waste into something useful, such as energy, products, or fertilizers that are beneficial for the community.

This was conveyed in a meeting between the City Government and Bogor Regency with the Ministry of Environment (KLH) in Jakarta, Monday, 2. During the meeting, the two regions received encouragement and direction to handle waste problems more integrated and modern.

"In the future, the problem of waste must be utilized. But of course the regions cannot run alone, there needs to be assistance from the central government so that the handling is in accordance with the determined corridor," said Dedie.

Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol welcomed the collaboration and stated that he was ready to support the steps to handle waste taken by the local government.

"Thank you to the Mayor and the Regent who were present to discuss. We will collaborate with all the resources we have to solve environmental problems," said Hanif.

This meeting is a continuation of the discussion that had previously been held at the Bogor City Hall. One of the main focuses is the management of the Galuga Final Disposal Site (TPA).

Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto explained that this meeting provided technical directions for the management of TPA more environmentally friendly. His party also plans to establish further cooperation with Bogor City in terms of waste management.

"It's not just a matter of throwing garbage, but how do we manage garbage so as not to pollute the environment," he said.

For the initial stage, Bogor Regency will start implementing the concept of landfill sanitary, following the steps of Bogor City. In addition, the evaluation of licensing in the Puncak area will also be carried out to preserve the environment.

"We will follow up on the direction of the Minister, especially in preserving nature," added Rudy.
