Minister Of Manpower Yassierli Uses BPJS Employment JKP Data To Know The Number Of Workers Affected By Layoffs
Minister of Manpower Yassierli stated that his ministry as of June 2025 used data on job loss guarantee recipients (JKP) from the Employment Social Security Administration to find out the number of workers affected by layoffs.
Data from the JKP Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS) Ketenagakerjaan was chosen because it is believed to be clearer and show the situation on the ground.
"We will use data from JKP starting in June, meaning starting now yes. So, we no longer use data from the official report. That's just a comparison," Yassierli said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 2.
Yassierli added that BPJS Employment JKP data could show when workers were laid off (PHK), along with the area.
"It's clearer, clearer, when he's laid off, then which province, it can be clearer," continued Yassierli.
The Minister of Manpower also said that the data from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan would later also be integrated with data from the Ministry of Manpower.
"So, so far our data has not yet matured the system. I have only been active for seven months. Now our system has matured when the JKP has been established," he said.
On a separate occasion last week (28/5), Yassierli revealed the plan to unify the layoff data from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan with data from the Ministry of Manpower.
This step was taken because so far there has been no synchronized layoff data between one institution and another.
"Regarding the layoff data, this is once again a challenge because we have data originating from the related labor service report and it is bottom-up so that maybe there is still data that is missed and becomes less valid," said Yassierli.

The hope is that the integrated data can help the government formulate appropriate policies, especially regarding workers affected by layoffs.
"The data is used as the basis for policy formulation. When there is layoff data, we must know (where the layoffs occur) in the sector, where the location, and what mitigation is," said Minister of Manpower Yassierli.
