Again, The Fuso Rem Blong Truck Hits The Ciawi 2: Two Cars Become Victims

BOGOR Another traffic accident occurred at the Ciawi 2 Toll Gate, Bogor City, West Java, on Monday, June 2. A container truck crashed into the toll gate and two vehicles in front of it. It is strongly suspected that this incident was caused by a failure in the braking system function on the truck.

The Fuso truck with the license plate number F-9717-FE driven by Suherman drove from Ciawi to Jakarta. When he arrived at the Ciawi 2 Toll Gate, the truck was suspected of having braking problems, thus losing control and directly hitting the toll road facility and two cars in front of him.

Head of Gakkum Traffic Unit of the Bogor City Police, AKP Santi Marintan, explained that the driver admitted that the vehicle brakes were not working. However, the police are still investigating the exact cause of the accident.

"When entering from Cigombong, the braking system was still recorded to be working well," said Santi.

Officers from PT Jasa Marga together with the police have evacuated the vehicle and repaired the collapsed toll cross section. Container trucks have also been to a safer location to unravel traffic jams around the scene.

This accident is not the first time this has happened at that location. Previously, on February 5, 2025, a truck also had an accident at the Ciawi Toll Gate with a similar cause, namely the failure of the braking system.

The incident involved 19 people and left 8 victims dead and the rest injured. The accident also resulted in severe damage to toll gates and caused panic among road users.

The recurrence of similar incidents in the same location raises pressure from the public for a thorough evaluation of the heavy vehicle operational security and feasibility system, especially over-dimensional over-loading (ODOL) vehicles, which crosses the area.
