BAIC BJ40 Plus Is Built Locally, The Price Is Down Drastically Almost IDR 100 Million
JAKARTA - BAIC Indonesia officially launched the BJ40 Plus which has been assembled locally in Indonesia, more precisely at PT Handal Indonesia Motor (PT HIM) in Purwakarta, West Java. For this, the price is cheaper than the CBU from China.
Now the official price of the car that has a burlap design is at Rp. 698 million (on the road Jakarta), almost Rp. 100 million cheaper than the previous model, which was Rp. 790 million. Related to this, the COO of PT JHL International Automotive (JIO) Dhani Yahya, said it was not due to quality cuts.
According to Dhani, local assembly allows the company to reduce a number of cost components, including import duties (import duty) and luxury tax (luxury tax).
"This price decline is not due to a decline in quality, but is an advantage of the local production scheme," he said on the sidelines of the launch ceremony, Purwakarta, West Java, Monday, July 1.
He further said that previously the import duty rate and others could be 50 percent and now it is only 7-10 percent. Thus, the selling price can be significantly reduced.
