Curfew For Students In Bandung Begins To Apply, Prohibited From Leaving Home From 9 PM
JABAR - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has imposed a curfew for students starting today, Monday, May 6.
This is a follow-up to the Circular Letter of the Governor of West Java Number 51/PA.03/DISDIK regarding restrictions on night activities for students.
"Students are not allowed to leave their homes from 21.00 to 04.00 WIB, except for special reasons," said Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan, in Bandung, West Java (West Java), Monday, May 2, as reported by Antara.
Farhan revealed the special reasons referred to, among others, if students participate in official school activities or educational institutions, religious activities that are known to parents, accompanied by parents, or in emergency conditions.
He stressed that this policy must be enforced by all state civil servants (ASN) at the regional level and school principals.
He asked that the implementation of the regulation be carried out consistently and not cause polemics in the community.
"We don't want children to be involved in negative activities. This curfew is a form of concern, not just restrictions," he said.

Furthermore, he has also instructed the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and the Bandung City Transportation Service to increase patrols at a number of points that are often used as hangout places for students at night.
"Don't hesitate to ask the identity and origin of the school. Do it with a humanist approach but stay firm," said Farhan.
Furthermore, Farhan emphasized the importance of socialization to parents and community leaders so that this rule is not misinterpreted as a form of repression of children's freedom.
"All of this is for the future of our children. Education and supervision must be balanced," he said.
