BPS Records Indonesia's Import Value In April 2025 Capai 20.59 Billion US Dollars

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that Indonesia's import value in April 2025 reached 20.59 billion US dollars or an increase of 21.84 percent on an annual basis (year on year/yoy) when compared to April 2024 of 16.90 billion US dollars.

Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at the Central Statistics Agency of BPS Pudji Ismartini revealed that the performance of non-oil and gas imports in April 2025 reached 18.07 billion US dollars, or an increase of 29.86 percent compared to April 2024 of 13.91 billion US dollars.

Meanwhile, the value of oil and gas imports in April 2025 was 2.52 billion US dollars, a decrease of 15.57 percent when compared to the same period in 2024 worth 2.98 billion US dollars.

"The increase in the annual import value was driven by an increase in the value of non-oil and gas imports by contributing an increase of 24.59 percent," he said at a press conference Monday, June 2.

Pudji said that the import value according to use in April 2025 saw an increase in imports in all types of annual use of goods.

He conveyed that imports of consumer goods reached 1.76 billion US dollars, an increase of 18.46 percent when compared to the same period in 2024 worth 1.44 billion US dollars.

Then, the import of auxiliary raw materials reached 14.97 billion US dollars, an increase of 18.93 percent when compared to the same period in 2024 worth 12.59 billion US dollars.

"Assisted raw materials that contributed at least 72.73 percent of the total import value of April 2025 increased by 18.93 percent with a contribution of 14.01 percent," he explained.

Furthermore, imports of capital goods reached 3.91 billion US dollars, an increase of 36.28 percent when compared to the same period in 2024 worth 2.87 billion US dollars.
