KPK Summons 2 Former Director General Of Binapenta-PPK Ministry Of Manpower Who Is A Suspect In Alleged Extortion Of Foreign Workers
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned Suhartono and Haryanto as former Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK) today, Monday, June 2.
Both of them were asked for information regarding the alleged corruption in the placement of foreign workers or the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA).
"The investigation was carried out at the KPK's Red and White building," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters, Monday, June 2.
Suhartono and Haryanto are reportedly suspects in this case along with six other people. They are WP as Director of the Directorate of Foreign Labor Licensing Control (PPTKA) of the Ministry of Manpower; GW who is the Head of the Sub-Directorate and Commitment and Coordinating Officer; and PCW, JS, AE as staff.
Even so, the anti-corruption commission has not officially announced the eight suspects. Budi only mentioned Suhartono and Haryanto being questioned as related parties.
"The KPK has scheduled an examination of parties related to alleged corruption in the management of a plan to use foreign workers (TKA) at the Ministry of Manpower," he said.
In addition to examining the two suspects, examinations were also carried out on two witnesses. They are Fitriana Susilowati as the Intermediate Work Delivery Officer of the Ministry of Manpower and Rizky Junianto as the Coordinator for Feasibility and Ratification of the RPTKA Directorate of Control for the Use of Foreign Workers of the Ministry of Manpower for the period September 2024-2025.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to the placement of foreign workers or the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA). Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu said there was an allegation that there was an extortion of prospective foreign workers (TKA) who would work in Indonesia.
This extortion, continued Asep, was carried out by the Directorate General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Ditjen Binapenta and PKK).
"(The Ministry of Manpower at the Directorate General of Binapenta collects or forces someone to give something," Asep said when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, May 20.
Asep said the suspects were suspected of violating Article 12e or Article 12b of the Anti-Corruption Law. The practice is alleged to have occurred for the period 2020-2023.
Searches have been carried out at a number of locations in Jabodetabek to look for evidence on May 20-22. A total of 11 cars and 2 motorbikes were confiscated and have been transferred to the KPK Confiscated Property Storage House (Rupbasan), Cawang, South Jakarta on Monday, May 26.
