Toyota Aygo X Hybrid Hits Europe With Full Hybrid Technology And Lowest Emissions

Toyota is again making a breakthrough in the city car segment by launching the latest Aygo X Hybrid in Europe. This car is the first in its class to adopt full hybrid technology, promising a more enjoyable and efficient driving experience. The announcement, which was released on June 1, 2025 and went on sale in the UK and the European market at the end of 2025, immediately caught the attention of automotive lovers across Europe.

One of Aygo X Hybrid's main attractions is the lowest CO2 emission claim among non-plug-in cars on the market, which is only 86 g/km. This figure is based on projected WLTP data. The combination of accessibility, driving pleasure, attractive design, and advanced safety systems makes this car a very attractive choice for modern urban and fertile life.

Launching the Toyota UK page, Monday, June 2, the Aygo X Hybrid is said to have been designed and produced in Europe by maintaining the spirit of fun-to-drive from its predecessor, Aygo, which has been the most affordable car of Toyota in Europe over the past 20 years. Since its introduction in 2022, more than 287,000 Aygo X units have been sold, proving its popularity among drivers who prioritize style and practice.

With the full hybrid technology it carries, Aygo X Hybrid offers more power and acceleration that is more responsive, producing a more interesting driving experience without sacrificing fuel efficiency. The outward appearance is even more charming with a new goal design that gives a stronger impression of urban chic.

Hybrid Technology Innovation In Compact Packaging

Aygo X Hybrid is the smallest model of Toyota adopting full hybrid technology. The 1.0 liter gasoline engine in the previous model is now fully replaced by a hybrid powertrain system also used on Yaris and Yaris Cross. An increase in power of 43 bhp (44 DIN cellphones) resulted in a total system output of 114 bhp (116 DIN cellphones), allowing acceleration of 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 10 seconds.

Adjustments to accommodate hybrid components are done cleverly without sacrificing the wheelbase of 2,430 mm and baggage space. For the first time on a Toyota hybrid car, two stacks of battery cells are positioned side by side longitudinally under the rear seat. Additional batteries were also transferred under the baggage compartment, thus not reducing storage capacity.

Thanks to the GA-B platform and low hybrid battery position, Aygo X Hybrid offers agile control on urban roads with a turn radius of only 4.7 meters. Driving comfort is also enhanced by the use of new noise damping components, including dashboard damping, engine hood insulation, and engine bottom cover, as well as an updated exhaust and damping system.

Advanced Safety Features And Fresher Design

Toyota has not forgotten the safety aspects by embedding an upgraded Toyota Safety Sense package, including Pre-Collition System, Lane Trace Assist, Road Sign Assist, Emergency Driving Stop System, and Protective Driving Assist. Over-the-air software updates will also ensure the safety system is always optimal.

In terms of design, Aygo X Hybrid comes with a really new front look, emphasizing the identity of a modern compact SUV. The new bonuses, headlights, and grips create a stronger impression and a low center of gravity. The choice of 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels and black wheels further strengthens their character.

The interior of this car is also updated with cleaner and more modern designs, including a digital 7-inch comic and a new AC control panel. Electronic parking brake and two USB-C charging ports are the standard features in all variants.

More Aggressive GR Sport Variant

For the first time, Aygo X comes in the GR Sport variant, inspired by the Toyota Gazoo Racing racing team. This variant offers a more sporty look with an exclusive bi-tone Mustard color scheme, black bonnets, griles with a "G" pattern, and velg alloy GR Sport. Inside the cabin, black and gray accents and the GR logo further add to the sporty impression. The Aygo X Hybrid GR Sport also offers a more dynamic driving experience thanks to a special tuning of shock and spring damping, as well as a sharper electric steering response.
