Speech On The Birthday Of Pancasila, Prabowo Reminds The Dangers Of Foreign Influence
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto reminded the Indonesian people not to be easily divided by differences, let alone the split was triggered by the influence of foreign powers that did not want Indonesia to become a strong and prosperous country.
In his speech on the commemoration of the Birthday of Pancasila at the Pancasila Building Ceremony Field, Jakarta, Art, June 2, the Head of State emphasized the importance of maintaining national unity amidst the threat of fighting from outside parties.
"I invite once again all Indonesian people to unite. Differences should not be a source of action. This is always what foreign nations expect," Prabowo was quoted as saying by ANTARA.
The President said that the long history of colonialism and foreign interference showed systematic efforts to divide the nation.
According to Prabowo, not a few foreign powers have injected funds into non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to trigger horizontal conflicts in the country.
"Hundreds of their years came, hundreds of years they have been fighting against us until now. With money, they finance NGOs to pit us against each other," he said.
However, the President stressed that this invitation is not a form of hatred for other nations, but a warning so that Indonesia does not become a victim of foreign manipulation.
"I do not invite the Indonesian people to be suspicious of foreign nations. We must not be played by any nation," said President Prabowo.

On that occasion, the President cited the spirit of the proclaimers as a guideline for facing the current global dynamics.
"We remember the words of our proclaimer, the Indonesian nation must stand on our own feet," he said.
