Komdigi Explores Strategic Partnership With SAP To Create Ethical National AI

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) is exploring partnership initiatives with SAP, a leading global technology company, for national artificial intelligence (AI) that is ethical, obeys regulations, and upholds data sovereignty.

Dalam pertemuan dengan Wamenkomdigi, Nezar Patria, SAP menyampaikan kesiapannya untuk mendukung pelaksanaan Undang-Undang Pelindungan Data Pribadi (UU PDP).

In addition, SAP is also committed to Turkey and strengthens the policy of One Data Indonesia' as stated in Government Regulation no. 39 of 2019.

SAP emphasized that the Indonesian market has a strategic position in their global map, so it is important for companies to assist the government in the process of drafting AI policies, implementing them in the public sector, and developing cross-institutional capacity.

Nezar also emphasized the importance of partnerships like this to ensure that Indonesia's digital transformation is not only fast, but also in line with the principles of digital sovereignty and public trust.

Komdigi welcomes the offer of SAP to help assist the policy reform process through the assignment of experts (country experts) who will work across sectors, as well as support the use of AI technology in national priority fields.

In the realm of technology implementation, SAP proposes the development of AI in various key sectors in Indonesia, such as AI-based public services, smart agricultural systems, and the digitization of MSMEs.

As a follow-up, Komdigi will coordinate with BSSN and other relevant stakeholders to evaluate technical and regulatory readiness, as well as design a research-based and multi-sectoral cooperation format.

This assessment process is expected to be a strong foundation for building long-term partnerships that are able to accelerate Indonesia's digital transformation while still upholding ethical, security and sustainability values.
