Donald Trump Cancels Candidate For Jared Isaacman As NASA Leader
JAKARTA The White House canceled its nomination for Jared Isaacman as NASA administrator. With Isaacman's candidacy canceled, the White House is now looking for new candidates to lead NASA.
This announcement was made directly by the White House on May 31, 2025. White House spokesman Liz Huston confirmed the cancellation of the nomination. Huston said they were looking for the right person.
"It is imperative that the next NASA leader truly align with the America First President Trump agenda and his successor will soon be announced directly by President Trump," Huston said, quoted by Spacenews on June 2.
There is no explanation for the reason for the cancellation of Isaacman's candidacy as NASA administrator. However, in a post on social media, US President Donald Trump stated that he was the one who directly canceled his candidacy.
"After a thorough review of the previous relationship, I hereby recall nomination for Jared Isaacman to head NASA. I will soon announce a new candidate that will be in line with the Mission, and prioritize America in Space," Trump said.

This news certainly shocked many, especially the space industry, because not a few believed that Isaacman would lead NASA. The reason is, there is no conflict in Isaacman's candidacy so far.
In a post, Isaacman was also seen receiving this nomination withdrawal. He even thanked Trump to the Senate members who had supported him for the past few months, especially until the interview session some time ago.
"President, NASA, and the American people deserve the best" by an administrator who is ready to rearrange, rebuild, and mobilize the best and brightest thinkers to produce headlines that are changing the world created by NASA, "said Isaacman.
