Anies Baswedan Affirms Anyone May Be A Resident Of Jakarta In Today's Memory, June 1, 2019
JAKARTA Memories of today, six years ago, June 1, 2019, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan emphasized that anyone could be a citizen of Jakarta. Anies gave an example of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) when running for governor of DKI Jakarta still using a Solo ID card.
Previously, the image of Jakarta as a metropolitan city was gone. This condition invites people from various parts of the archipelago to come and try their luck. They think that Jakarta always presents new job vacancies.
The city of Jakarta was once the center of progress from Indonesia. Bung Karno even said that Jakarta was a beacon of national civilization. This condition is evidenced by the role of Jakarta as the center of renewal.
Jakarta always presents the most complete public transportation. Jakarta is also able to provide greater job opportunities than other regions. This condition makes people flock to Jakarta to look for work.
They believe that coming to Jakarta life and degrees will increase. The problem is that many migrants do not have the skills or education to be qualified. This condition makes those who are successful and fail the difference is quite large.

The governor of DKI Jakarta in the era of 1966-1977, Ali Sadikin, considers the arrival of immigrants to be the culprit. He considered Jakarta to be full. Ali Sadikin also inflamed Jakarta as a closed city for migrants.
Along with the development of the Jakarta era then cleaned up. The recent Jakarta leader has not seen many immigrants as a problem. Take the Basuki Tjahaja Purnama era (Ahok). The Governor of DKI Jakarta from the 2014-2017 era opened up opportunities for immigrants to enter Jakarta.
He did not want to prohibit immigrants. However, Ahok has conditions. Whoever wants to come they must have money.
Something that will make them have a decent job and home. Whoever is an immigrant who doesn't have a job and a proper home they certainly won't be able to have a Jakarta ID card.
For me there is no problem with newcomers. The important thing is not to stay in a rented house or install stalls carelessly.
"If you don't have a job, you can't get a DKI ID card. I estimate the number of newcomers after Lebaran this year is around 60 thousand to 70 thousand people. This number has decreased when compared to the previous year," Ahok said as quoted by the ANTARA website, July 22, 2015.
The difference between Ahok, and Anies Baswedan. The governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2017-2022 era revealed that Jakarta is an open city for immigrants on June 1, 2019. He emphasized that anyone can come and become a citizen of Jakarta as long as they carry complete documents.
Anies gave an example that Jakarta's openness had been going on for a long time. He emphasized that only President Jokowi when running for governor of DKI Jakarta had a Solo ID card. However, the people of Jakarta do not consider it a problem.
Then, those who come to try their luck in Jakarta only need to bring complete documents. The document can later be taken care of so that they can become residents with Jakarta ID cards.
"Regarding operations, so what is now a population development service, not an operation. The goal is those who will work in Jakarta, bring documents, then later we will serve population service in DKI. Even DKI has a governor whose ID card is not DKI, Pak Jokowi is from Solo, his ID card is Solo. May he be a candidate for governor in Jakarta? Yes."
"Just like now, anyone can be a regent candidate, a mayor candidate anywhere, that's a principle that indeed Indonesia has equality, only a population record problem. All of them are Indonesian citizens who have the same rights. We no longer carry out inspection operations or commonly called judicial operations to examine those from the village who come to Jakarta. Why? The capital city belongs to all Indonesian citizens," Anies said as quoted by the COMPASS.com page, June 1, 2019.
