Ahead Of The Krucial Duel Against China, The Indonesian National Team Closes Training In Bali
DENPASAR - The Indonesian National Team (Timnas) has completed a training camp for almost a week from Monday, May 26 to Saturday, May 31 at the Bali United Training Center, Gianyar Regency, Bali.
"The training has been completed and the national team will leave for Jakarta at 17.00 WITA," said Sumardji, Manager of the Indonesian National Team, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, June 1.
The players plan to leave for Jakarta, Sunday, via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Badung Regency, by riding one of the national airlines.
Indonesian National Team Head coach Patrick Kluivert revealed a number of main training menus given to the players, including regulating game strategies starting from technical, physical and tactical.
"We have passing training, there are several finishings but most importantly they know what to do when they play on the pitch," Patrick said.
On the second day of training, Tuesday 27 May, 25 players participated in joint training out of a total of 32 names who were called to participate in training.
Several names were confirmed to have been dropped from the list of national team players, including Septian Bagaskara due to injuries and Eliano Reijnders who had to accompany his wife to give birth.
Septian was replaced by Persib Bandung player Beckham Putra who joined the training on the second day, Tuesday last week.
In addition, there are also several players who are confirmed to be absent against China in the third round of the Asian zone 2026 World Cup qualifiers, namely goalkeeper Maarten Paes and Marcelino Ferdinand, then Ragnar Oratmangoen, Sandy Walsh, both of whom were injured and Eliano Reijnders.
Maarten Paes received an accumulation of yellow cards, namely in the match against Saudi Arabia on September 6, 2024 and the match against Bahrain on March 25, 2025.
Meanwhile, Marcelino each received a yellow card against Bahrain on October 10, 2024, and March 25, 2025.
Ragnar Oratmangoen suffered a knee injury and Sandy Walsh suffered a soft tissue injury against the Australian team on Thursday (20/3).
On the other hand, there is also Kevin Diks who has not joined the training together in Bali due to a limited time, namely completing a joint assignment with his club in Denmark on Thursday (29/5).
After leaving Bali, the Garuda squad is scheduled to undergo training again in Jakarta.
The Indonesian national team will have a crucial match to host China in the 2026 World Cup qualifying continued match at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), Jakarta on Thursday 5 June.
After that, the Indonesian national team will undergo an away match against Japan on June 10.
