Allegedly Jealous And Emotional, Man In Tangerang Kills Second Wife
TENGERANG A man with the initials A (50) was arrested by the police for allegedly killing his second wife, Sarmunah (46), by strangling her and smothering her in their room in the Pakuhaji area, Tangerang Regency, on Thursday, May 29.
The Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Zain Dwi Nugroho, said that the perpetrators were secured by a joint team from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pakuhaji Police and the Tangerang City Metro Police Satreskrim at his house.
According to Zain, the motive for the perpetrator to commit murder was because he was annoyed with the victim who often came to the perpetrator's house and workplace. This often triggers an argument with his first wife.
"The suspect was upset because the victim often came to his house and workplace, causing him to often fight with his first wife," said Zain in his statement, Sunday, June 1.
This incident was revealed when a neighbor came to the victim's house to collect an unpaid motorcycle taxi wage. However, when called, the victim did not respond. Another neighbor tried to help call, but the results remained the same.
Out of suspicion, the two neighbors then decided to enter the house. When they opened the room, they found the victim had died wearing only a skirt, without the upper clothes.
"The victim was found in the room not wearing the top clothes, wearing only a skirt," explained Zain.
The two witnesses then reported the incident to the Pakuhaji Police Headquarters. The police who received the report immediately conducted an investigation of the crime scene and examined a number of witnesses. The victim's body was taken to the Tangerang District Hospital for an autopsy.
The autopsy showed bruises on the mouth and nose due to blunt violence. The victim was declared dead due to rupture of blood vessels.
